What a difference a pandemic makes. For a collective of women artists who in 2019 began planning a group exhibition of their new works, it changed almost everything.
Julia C R Gray of Twenty Women Artists had originally conceived the show as a follow-up to the collective’s previous exhibition about life as a 17-year-old female.
Titled “Twenty Women Artists: NOW,” the new show is open at the Oceanside Museum of Art through Aug. 1.
“I wanted us to look at women as we are at this moment,” Gray said, recalling her original proposal. “I wasn’t thinking about the headlines.
