Live animals, diorama displays and works from native artists will welcome visitors to the Bruce Museum in this summer’s exhibition “The Amazon Rainforest: Beauty • Destruction • Hope,” which opens to the public on Saturday.

Conceived by the museum’s science curatorial associate, Kate Dzikiewicz, the exhibit explores the story of a sprawling ecosystem on the verge of collapse, and the efforts to save it.

The exhibit opens June 19 and runs through Oct. 10.
