The National Museum of the US Air Force has opened a new exhibit celebrating the contributions of women in the service.

Christina Douglass, museum curator, said this exhibit, entitled “Women in the Air Force: From Yesterday into Tomorrow,” offers a great deal of new material, including policy changes, changing attitudes, and the varied contributions of women in the Air Force.

“When people come to see this exhibit they’re going to have the opportunity to see and do a whole bunch of new things,” Douglass said. “We have our Significant Women Silhouette feature, which enable people, particularly we’re hoping young children, to literally walk in the steps of women who have paved the way for women who are serving in the United States Air Force.”
