The Greeley History Museum is scheduled to open a new exhibit addressing how war changes the lives of families, communities and military members.

The “War Comes Home: The Legacy” exhibit will open at the museum, 714 8th St., on Saturday, Jan. 23. However, the date could change due to the pandemic.

The exhibit will feature artifacts such as private letters and email correspondence from every major conflict in U.S. history including the Civil War and the war in Afghanistan. The artifacts gives visitors a unique look at war through the eyes of those who serve in the Armed Forces as well as their family members.

“Those of us coming back…art not looking for sympathy,” Staff Sergeant Parker Gyokeres said in a press release. “We might be reluctant at first to talk about what we’ve been through…(but) your support has made this journey an incredible one.”
