The Livingston County Historical Society Museum, 30 Center St., reopened recently with a few changes – not all the result of COVID-19 adjustments – and a new feel.

“First of all people are going to be hit with air conditioning, which we have never had before,” said Museum Administrator Anna Kowalchuk.

Also added was a new entrance that is handicapped accessible.

“When you come in there it used to be a narrow hallway, now it is all opened up and there is a cathedral ceiling. Also there is a new welcoming exhibit and an exposed cobblestone wall, that was the original 1838 wall,” said Kowalchuk.

The Museum is open from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays. It reopened July 16 after being closed for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I think what people will find is that it won’t feel much different as they are walking through, other than we took away things that people could touch,” said Kowalchuk.
